I have a contact in my list called "Sh*t" and i just keep adding these types of numbers to that contact...no vibrate, no ring...who cares how often or what time they call? unless you are looking at your phone at the exact moment they call, you will never know! February 5, 2015, 7:18 pm I received two calls today (so far) from this number - one at 12:45pm & the second at 3:35pm. I finally got a phone with Call Display & it showed up as SPRINT CANADA. I didn't answer it & no message was left - typical. Made note of the number & did a *67 to block my number when I phoned back within 5 minutes after the last call. Got a recording saying that the Number is not in Service. I love CALL DISPLAY. If you want to know the number that called you - DO A *69 AND THAT WILL GIVE YOU THE LAST NUMBER THAT CALLED YOU. July 7, 2015, 8:51 pm I rec'd a call from 250 383-6894. At the time I was under a GREAT DEAL of stress, & somewhat computer illiterate. A man with a very thick Indian accent told me that he worked for Windows, & he'd found a virus on my computer. I could barely make out most of what he was saying other than my 'new' computer was going to crash. Because I believed he worked for Windows, I allowed him to 'fix' the problem to the tune of $300 US. My (furious) kids checked it out - Even though my call display showed Sprint Canada, the call originated from Ohio, & my visa was processed through a bank in West Africa. Incidentally, my dtr-in-law WAS able to call him back just 2 hrs later - told him I had severe dementia, that she was my caregiver, & that I had stolen her credit card & 'snuck' onto the computer. She was told she'd be refunded, & just needed to be patient. 3 yrs later, our patience is starting to wear thin!!! Prior to finally blocking this #, I did have fun messing with him...pretending I was deaf, acting as if I was interested but needing VERY thorough, long-winded explanations on EVERYTHING! I faked accents, told him I was in the fraud section of the RCMP, & told him I held an important position in the Cdn Fed govt, etc., etc. Then I became bored & finally blocked the #. Prior to this I also received recorded messages from 250 383-6894 informing me of various airline savings, AND, that I'd won various trips! August 5, 2015, 2:43 pm Called my cell-phone just a few minutes ago, although only a few friends know the number ! I picked-up after the 2nd ring, but the caller hung up. Probably a "we are calling from windows support, because there is a virus on your computer" or "we have a refund for you, and we need to connect to your computer to verify that you are eligible". Yeah, right. Scammers trying to put some "ransom-ware" software on my computer, which would lock me out of my computer (until I did a 'System Restore' to an earlier checkpoint). December 3, 2015, 3:51 pm Two calls from this number, and likely several more before I blocked it. I used to get a lot of calls from the "Hilton hotels" and "Marriot Hotels" scam. I started blocking the numbers and they started leaving messages that would go to my "blocked messages" inbox. I just checked it today and they are all from this number. The two calls are from November, on the 17th and 24th. Both messages consist of the same thing: "you have won an opportunity from Trip Advisor for three all inclusive vacations at the price of $799. Press 1 to speak to an agent, press 2 to be put on our do not call list." I would not trust the do not call list option... I imagine they just use it to confirm the number is real and keep calling with different offers until something entices you. I'm so sick of spam calls on my cell phone... STOP GIVING THEM MONEY!!!! Both times threatened legal action if I did not call back right away. Second time the caller said his name was Officer White - East Indian Accent. February 24, 2016, 12:13 pm I got a phone call from this number, but instead of actually calling me, they opted to go straight to my voicemail and left a message saying I needed to call them back right away, with a Toronto address. When I Googled the Toronto address they provided it came up with a debt collection agency. This doesn't make any sense as the area code is for Victoria, BC - why would it be a debt collection agency in Ontario? Also, I know for a fact that I don't owe anyone money, so I'm guessing they just got my number from somewhere and are trying to scare me into giving personal information or banking details. So why is it, with the large number of complaints lodged on this site against this number, that no one is able to identify where (other than Victoria) that this number is originating? Surely the technology that exists to mask the callers identity can identify who is behind this scam. A telephone company has provided these crooks with the means to harass the rest of us. Very threatening message from Ryan Smith of Revenue Canada saying I or my lawyer must call back - something about a fraudulent tax return. When I call back the number it says not in service.
