December 9, 2016, 1:05 pm I just got a call from the same guy on the same number. Said he was with "Windows 35", whatever that is. I asked if he knew anything about Windows - that there was no Windows 35, only Office 365, etc. He was a little taken aback that I don't even own a Windows machine. He couldn't give me any info on what computer he was referencing. I called the number back and it rings twice then disconnects. Hello not-CharlotteNC. I told him he had the wrong number because I do know own a computer which was not at all true but he was puzzled that I didn't own one....then he hung up. I called back and it was a bad number. December 13, 2016, 2:10 am Yes, it's a known scam that lets bad people into your computer if you cooperate. I've gotten so many of these calls I enjoy giving this response most of all: (They insist something bad is happening to your computer, but they'll generously help you get the bad guys out) - so my response is "OH MY GOODNESS! Quick, quick, tell me what to do" ... about 3 out of 5 times they catch on and hang up. For those who keep going, I get dumber and dumber: "Press what? OMG, where is that? Press what? I don't understand. OMG OMG hurry, hurry, help me!" Eventually they hang up too, but it's fun

Someone with that name actually wrote a book called "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, and other lies we love to tell" in 1977. Seems like this scammer is actually literate. Check Amazon for book details! (Thick Indian accent) I informed her (?) that our computer did not have any problems, my husband actually built it, and is a software developer by profession and would take care of any of our technical needs so do the call us again. December 23, 2016, 12:44 am Got a call at 9:33 pm Pacific time. Caller with Indian accent said he was from "Windows Technical Support" with an emergency message about a problem with my computer. When I pointed out that Windows belongs to Microsoft he insisted he wasn't from Microsoft and that Windows was different. I told him I had talked to Microsoft about this same identical call wording last week and Microsoft said it's a scam. He repeated his insistence that he was not Microsoft but was Windows. December 27, 2016, 10:20 am Received a call that woke me at 12:15am from this number. After several seconds of me saying "hello" (I was startled and thought it was some kind of emergency) there was an electronic voice that said, "goodbye". Very creepy call to get in the middle of the night.

December 29, 2016, 7:48 pm Got a call around 7:30pm in NH. Caller stated that he was with windows and when I opened my e-mail my computer was downloading unwanted, dangerous files. I asked him to put me on a do not call list and he asked why. I asked for a supervisor and he wouldn't give me one and said if he was in my position he'd react the same way, which is strange because normally these guys are hostile. Then I asked him what kind of computer I own, since he has all this data and he said it didn't matter. I hung up after that.

January 5, 2017, 4:33 pm This number has been calling me, even after 10pm. At first, I was concerned as my daughter lives in that area code; I did not pick up. Once I was comfortable that she was ok, I blocked it...but they keep calling although they won't get through. Just called a few minutes ago. January 14, 2017, 2:03 am Received a call at 10;30pm. Same thing as everyone else on this list. A lady with a Very strong Indian accent. Said she was with Window 365 and they received an error msg that my computer was infect. I asked which one of my computers it was. I knew it was a scam but I went with it for a bit. She kept say they could fix my computer. I told her I couldn't understand her. She got a man on the phone. He was going on about they could show me they were legit. I told him if my computer was infected I would take it to the Microsoft store in the morning. I asked him how much this was going to cost me. He said it was free.
