November 23, 2013, 6:34 pm Claiming to be from Microsoft and wanting to fix my computer. This is a scammer. There are two stories for scams connected to this type of caller to look out for. One there is the potential for hacking your computer with spyware and malware to steal your banking data and identity. Two they may be trying to mislead you about fake tech support products and memberships in order to trick you into paying them hndreds of dollars for things you don't need and can't actually get for free off the internet. November 26, 2013, 10:49 am Tech support scam trying to fool me into hacking my own computer for remote management and then telling me that common windows errors are evidence of a virus infection that needed to be addressed. They will get very angry with you if you try to resist their meddling with your pc. Sounds to be Indian and lies to you about being from a Microsoft office in California. March 4, 2015, 9:47 pm These calls are all made by stupid criminal Indians. They will do anything to make you believe them. One guy recently (see bad numbers blog) actually threatened a person with death for not believing in his story about being a real person telling the truth and said he would send a hitman to kill him in his home after being questioned about his scamming job.
