Legally debt collectors can't reveal too much unless they are 100% sure it's you so they can come across as very suspicious as they try to work around the laws. September 11, 2014, 7:10 pm CBE Group, which is a debt collection enterprise. They wanted to get personal information out of me like my ssn#. When I told them that I will not deal with them unless I get something in writing the person abruptly hung up on me. These people don't seem very legit to me so I would avoid co-operating with them at all costs. Blocking may be a very good option if you have the devices. October 28, 2014, 2:23 am Was demanding to verify my social security number without telling me who they were. It said CBE Group on my CID, but the woman on the phone refused to acknowledge that. Wanted one way co-operation without verifcation. Seems slimy to me. I refused to give her any personal info. Scum central here. Ask for something in writing and hang up. January 30, 2015, 10:50 pm Some kind of suspicious scheme going on here. The person wanted to verify my social security number and my address alogn with other info about my identity. Wouldn't give me much information about them so they sorta came across as abut of a stalker weirdo. I have a mortgage, which I pay on time so I have no idea what debts I could possibly owe to a CBE GROUP as I've not received any letters in the mail to make the debt official. So probably not worth taking seriously as much small debt gets written off. Could be a ridiculous FedEx cross border debt or something which I always ignore and they stop coming for it. May 21, 2015, 10:44 pm This was a very suspicious debt collector, a male caller. They wanted me to verify some of my personal information which I didn't feel comfortable with offering it. I have not received any documentation in the mail regarding debts. And I also don't remember creating any debts that I didn't pay off, or unpaid store cards. I would be really interested in knowing what debt they think I owe, but I can't respect this debt collection call without something be sent in writing first. June 17, 2015, 3:12 am I am getting debt collection calls from a company called "CBE Group" and they are calling about debts on a relative's old Verizon bill that was left unpaid. I will not get involved in the dispute, but I will say my relative does not have pleasant words for the callers and refuses to pay them no matter what. Good luck, people. June 18, 2015, 2:21 pm CBE Group called my husband's phone looking for my best friend (a woman in a different state). When he told the guy he had the wrong number, the guy persisted, trying to fish for information. I called them back, got a recording, left a message, and told them that the person they were looking for died this past year, idiots. They still wanted all of her information. Not happening. The guy on the other end of the line threatened me with a warrant for my arrest if I didn't comply, I replied that this isn't the Soviet Union, but do whatever floats your boat, Turd-For-Brains. November 12, 2015, 10:59 am Fyi a lot of scammers now a days op out of alleged legit businesses they "work" at and the alleged business is responsible for such activity conducted under their name. I consider the debt expired and labelled as junk debt so I will not be honoring this debt claim or cooperating their requests for information. Out of the question. December 16, 2015, 1:31 am Just received 2 phone calls today from this number, what I thought. Had a debt that went to collections that I refuse to pay since the medical bill charged for therapy which was not provided. Tried to reason with them they wouldn't compromise so the hell with them. Debt was for $330.00 still harassing me 2.5 years later. |
