November 27, 2014, 3:04 pm First Energy calling customers about delinquent bills. Not a scammer. If you don't do business with them then they must have the wrong number for some reason. December 20, 2014, 6:31 pm This is Jersey Central Power & Light trying to inform you that you your bill is past due. Not a scam. I was actually behind on my bill and paid it up now due to the reminder. However, it is is a scam if they ask for a green dot payment or some kind of prepaid card as a form of payment. Here's the info from First Energy's site: https://www.firstenergycorp.com/newsroom/news_releases/firstenergy-warns-customers-about-green-dot-card-payment-scam-.html I just had to file a police report because they were trying to scam me. It's a robo dialer similar to one you'd receive if you were very behind on payments. It even said my husband's name. But the 888 number is wrong. It's not Penelec. Beware!
