February 13, 2015, 7:53 pm These types of calls are illegal as far as I know. They are junk debt collectors pretending to be a law firm with the intention of scaring you into paying the debt so they can save money and time on paperwork and calls which would result in no payments anyway because the debts have already expired or were written off. February 13, 2015, 7:55 pm If you didn't get a letter in the mail that specifically describes your debt with a phone number and address you can contact to discuss the debt then laugh. That's right I said laugh. They can't do anything to you with these calls with threats of serving you papers if you don't pay them immediately. This is just fear to encourage you to pay. They buy debt for pennies on the dollar so any payment they get from a nice naive person is pure 4000% profit.
