October 7, 2015, 11:28 pm The caller is "American Heart Association" and the caller id said "Out of Area." They will take you off their list if you request it, but I can't verify if this will actually happen. Caller wants to send me a charity kit which I would need to mail to 5 people I know. December 8, 2015, 10:55 am Scammers taking advantage of people during the holidays when people are in the state of giving to others. The American Heart Association does not call people on the phone. This number is NOT associated with this organization. Phone scammers makes millions off of phone scams. Scamming pays, apparently. Many of them are located overseas but using local phone numbers. It is difficult to catch and prosecute them. In addition to this number, called me from 888-355-7209 on 12/24/15, 866-211-1876 twice on 12/26/15 & 877-353-1611 on 12/27/15. They want YOU to use YOUR money to send fund-raising mail to YOUR friends and neighbors. They then want YOU to send THEM the money. They get credit for raising the funds.
