January 27, 2015, 7:46 am Message was left for me about winning a contest prize for a $25,000 or a new suv. Wants me to call them back with this number. Sounds ridiculous BS. Can't be true. I don't remember entering any contests as they are usually just schemes to collect customer data on you. If they do offer prizes it's usually fake prizes that are actually secretly coupons for products designed to increase sales with companies involved. April 6, 2015, 7:28 pm This is either some kind of sales scheme where they try to sell you something with no real prize available (just first round win waiting for fake second round) or it's a complete scam trying to phish personal details from you. $25,000 prizes are big deals and so are car prizes. You'd most likely get a letter in the mail and if they called you they'd tell you to show up somewhere legit to verify it. Highly unlikely that this is legit. Be on alert and ready to block. May 8, 2015, 2:11 pm As above. I didn't call back, but suspect they are just looking for info or trying to sell something. Didn't sound like fraud where they actually will try to get personal or financial info and rip you off, but nonetheless, beware. |
