September 26, 2014, 5:03 am I was getting a visit from comast for service on my line and the da t before this call came. The voicemail was incoherent and had a thick accent which I can;'t discern. I got another call from comcoast that was coherant and discussed the line service in detail. This may or may not being some kind of scam that is using hacked info from comcast. either that or it's a really bad department in comcast with people who can't speak english. March 17, 2016, 11:48 am i RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER AS WELL CLAIMING TO BE COMCAST ADVANCED TECHNICAL SUPPORT. THE PERSON WAS IN INDIA AND I REFUSED TO GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION. I CALLED COMCAST AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT THEY DO HAVE OUTSIDE CONTRACTORS IN INDIA WHO MAKE CALLS FOR THEM. TOLD THEM I WAS NOT INTERESTED IN TALKING TO SOMEONE IN INDIA AND WOULD WAIT FOR A TECHNICIAN TO SHOW UP AND FIX THE PROBLEM. Caller Company: 855-235-9196 Caller Type: Unknown

After they schedule a tech visit, this Indian group calls to try to fix the problem remotely, so they do not have to send a tech out to your house. I would rather see the tech face to face myself. July 8, 2016, 12:28 pm It is Comcast. They are from Advanced Technical Support. They will only call you if you've previously called them about an issue with your service. In my case, I'd had the same ongoing issue for over a week, despite already having had a tech out to my home.
