February 3, 2015, 11:10 pm The caller is the "American Medical Collection Agency" and they were calling to collect on old unpaid medical bills which I have had problems with in the past. While I will pay this bill when I am ready I don't need calls pressuring me, especially from overseas sounding people with thick Indian accents who ask for my bank details. A bit scummy. April 2, 2015, 9:05 pm A debt collection call from American Medical Collection Agency and they were calling about a past due doctors visit bill which was left after the insurance company paid most of the bill, but left a small amount that I needed to pay. April 25, 2015, 7:28 pm The caller id said "American Medical" and when I called them back I got a British woman's voice who stated the company name. She put me on hold. I hung up, and did some research. It's a medical debt company, but I already deal with my medical debts with another company and am paying them. No idea who this is unless there is some medical procedure I didn't pay for an forget which is unlikely. Cash and insurance are taking care of money of my medical bills. May 1, 2015, 5:46 pm Someone calls from this number and I think they ask for Vickie. I am elderly and hard of hearing, when I told the foreign caller to speak louder and slow down he hung up. Very rude of him. It sounded like he said he was calling from Evil Masters, I feel sure I have the name wrong but this is no way to treat the almost deaf elderly shut-ins. May 7, 2015, 2:24 pm The phone rang and I couldn't get to it and they left no message. I called back and an English lady recording answered American Medical and ask me to hold. A man came to the phone and said he was collecting for Swiss Colony and Seventh Avenue back from 2008 and not medical bills. I told him I knew nothing of this as I am on a fixed income and have been for several years and simply cannot afford to buy anything not vital. He also insisted my phone number belongs to another person and not me. At this point he growled and hung up, very rude. My son-in-law is a deputy sheriff so he will look into this for me, he thinks it is a scam.

May 21, 2015, 6:45 pm I've gotten several calls from this number, I didn't answer at first because the caller ID says Vietnam. I answered earlier today and no one spoke so I hung up. about five minutes ago I answered and after saying hello several times a man with a foreign accent asked for me, I asked him to identify himself and he said he was calling from AMA. September 9, 2015, 4:42 pm I start to receive calls from this number just yesterday, and thanks for these comments I can tell that is definitely a scam, I answered today and ask who they were and they answer AMC that's all, told them I was busy and call me later. October 7, 2015, 12:09 am This was a debt collection call from "American Medical Collection Agency" and I personally called my insurance company to verify the amounts of the bills that were claimed to be owed by me. I got a letter in the mail recently from this debt collector so this isn't a simple random caller or scammer. I did deal with a company called "Quest" and verified that I still have medical bills left unpaid. Dealing with this now. If saying from an insurance company call your and verify. All hospitals can not sell, or release your information due to the HIPPA laws. Really, they asked for her birthday, etc. She felt pressured and gave credit card number to pay it and they keep calling saying she owes. March 21, 2016, 1:43 pm I just received my sixth call in the last two weeks (one day I got three calls alone.. Harassing, yeah?). Finally this morning I answered again. Said they're from RMCB with a medical bill overdue. Tried to get CC info or check info because it was due before the 25th with no background info of company. She told me basic information that anyone can find on google. But tried to back me into a corner asking what the lowest price I would pay today/tomorrow could be. Woman tried to say she was putting her job on the line giving me the lowest price. I told her to give me verifying information about company, and phone number to reach her. She refused. I told her to send me a bill via postal and I'll look it over w/lawyer and she refused. Said only when cc was processed. persistent, borderline harassing and guilt-tripping. Don't. Fall for it. March 23, 2016, 7:24 pm I have been getting calls multiple times a day and they never leave a voicemail. Finally I called the number back and got a British recording stating they are a collection agency then they transferred me to a woman. I asked what company she was calling with and she was confused. Finally she told me 'American Medical Association.' I asked why and she said "I don't have time to play games with you" and hung up.. I called the OFFICIAL AMA and they said they are a service focused on medical physicians and when I told her about my call she said she doesn't think that her company is a part of debt collection. April 1, 2016, 4:12 pm Was called by this number at work. The caller would not identify himself or the name of his organization and had a very thick foreign accent. He told me the call was regarding a debt owed to a medical testing lab, rattled off some information and asked me how I would like to pay. The information he did provide could possibly be from a legitimate event given the time frame mentioned, however he would not provide satisfactory identification or a call-back number and organization name that I could use to verify the legitimacy of the call. When I explained I would not be giving him any payment information at all without legally verifiable proof of owing the debt he became confrontational, shouting repeatedly "Did I ask you to pay it? Did I ask you to pay it?" As he continue to shout I calmly informed him I would be looking in to reporting his phone number to the Federal Trade Commission and then I hung up. I have had the same phone number for almost 10 years. Anybody I legitimately owe debt to has my phone number and can call me themselves. I personally believe that this is at least partially a scam. May 14, 2016, 3:24 pm I received a call from that number, they said it was a unpaid bill for when I called 911 and an ambulance picked me up. They said it was for the ambulance ride to the hospital. Well I never called 911 and I never been in an ambulance so I definitely know this is a scam !!!!! Glad to know it's basically a scam but so aggravating to receive so many calls. Have them on the no call list but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I ask if they have completed Form AO 110(there is one, it's a subpoena to appear before a federal grand jury) or sometimes I make it up. Today I told them I couldn't release any information without either a court docket number or a case number. Then I asked if she was aware of what facility she was calling, and if she didn't know that, she shouldn't call this number. She got flustered and apologized and hung up. June 22, 2016, 3:16 pm This number has been calling me multiple times a day, almost every day for about 3 months now. At one point I had my husband answer for me. They say they're trying to collect a debt for American Medical. Yes I know I have some medical debt, and yes I've been in contact with that doctors office. I've explained to my Dr that times are tough right now and to please be patient with me. My Dr understands but this "American Medical" is relentless. I've explained it to them when they call, they get very angry and tell me they "won't believe my lies" and that I need to pay now. So I just hung up. I don't answer anymore. July 18, 2016, 10:15 am A fellow with a thick Indian accent, called me insisting that he talk to me. I explained that my wife's ill and I can't take time to deal with telephone solicitation. He told me it wasn't a sales call and was persistent in keeping me on the line. I gave him one last warning to get off of my phone. He didn't, he just persisted. So I blew a whistle in his ear. These people are scammers. I owe no outstanding medical bills, nor does my wife. I urge everyone to handle this situation the same. These people are just after your banking information.
