February 11, 2025, 8:22 pm This was supposed to be a "call back " from the Social Security Administration about my retirement/disability benefits. The person really couldn't answer my questions, and when I asked for employee ID # and name, she didn't have one but was able to get my SS#, DOB, mother's maiden name!!! I felt like a FOOL afterwards realizing she might just be a thief and deceitful scammer out to get my personal information!!! Now I must wait until tomorrow to call the SSA to report this, as they're closed! When I received the "call back," the name that came up was not the Social Security Administration Office or any government entity... It simply said "Public Service." Please be careful. Calling the number back only gets a recording directing you to the LEGITIMATE Social Security Administration number. Caller Company: Public Service Caller Type: Scammer/Phisher |
