November 25, 2013, 12:28 am A message said "Please call 1-800-900-1380 for important personal information." I think they want money. Bill collection companies often refuse to identify themselves in very suspicious ways because the law prevents them from identifying you to anyone as being in debt if they can't perfectly verify that you are in fact the person who owes money. It's a privacy law to protect people from being fired or embarrassed for their debts. Very likley that this number is being used to first verify your id and then discuss a potential debt. June 8, 2014, 9:19 pm A lot of automated calls asking me to identify myself. Sneaky tactics to get you to give up information like calling and asking for a wife and then if you call back asking for the husband to verify himself. There is clearly a wish to verify who you are and get as much information from you without telling you anything. That is common for debt collectors who don't want to let you on to what they really want. Caller Company: Penn Credit Caller Type: Debt Collector

March 4, 2015, 9:11 pm Some kind of debt collector I assume. Behavior is similar to another debt collector I had where they called me regarding debt on a credit card that was paid off 8 years ago. I ended up having to mail them a receipt for the paid debt and they still continue to call me. I suspect sometimes that they are all scammers and just change numbers and names to keep trying to fool people with fake debt or junk debt lists they hacked and use to appear legit for extra scamming power. November 3, 2016, 9:36 am My son who lives in another state and does not have the same last name as me received many calls from this number. he finally answered it and they claimed I owed Publishers Clearing House $82.00 from years ago. He call me and I honestly can't remember if I made this purchase from PCH. So as not to ruin my credit I foolishly paid the amount of $90.81 without researching this company and PCH without knowing if this was a real charge. How can I cancel this payment from my credit card until I research? Caller Company: Sara Williams Caller Type: Debt Collector
