December 18, 2014, 12:43 pm A man who claimed to be from Visa/MasterCard and wanted to lower my interest rates. If you ask him for his phone number too call him back he will say it's 1800 VISA 911. January 27, 2016, 4:00 pm They call my cell phone daily, I requested they put me on the do not call list. They either scream, curse, or make animal noises. I asked for a call back# in case we got disconnected. This is the number they gave. February 15, 2016, 12:00 pm received several rapid phone calls from # 1-504-710-0001 Kenner L # ID showed up, it is a resistant scammer, claiming his is with Card Services 1-800-847-2911. He made all sorts of claims about all the info he will give me and eliminate all my debt. He repeatedly ignored my DO NOT CALL listing and request. Good says it is coming from LA. He continued to push for my credit card #. It certainly is a scammer.

March 8, 2016, 11:57 am I answered a call from this number at 08:34 Pacific today. Caller-ID shows ' 18008472911' as the "name" for 800-847-2911. A Google-search found: http://www.visa.ca/en/personal/lostcard.jsp which really is the "VISA Customer Care Services" toll-free number to call for a "lost card". So, the caller-ID information is spoofed !!! Note: 1-800-VISA-911 is the same as 1-800-847-2911. Caller spoke good English, but with an India/Pakistan accent, and said that his name was "Mike Stevenson". He promised to lower my credit-card rate to under 6% for the rest of my life, and maybe as low as 0.9% if I never miss more than 3 consecutive payments. Too good to be true, eh? Definitely a scammer, looking for my current (MasterCard, not VISA) credit-card information, in order to "verify" that my outstanding balance (which is ZERO) could be transferred. April 8, 2016, 2:23 pm I got a call from: Visa 1-800-847-2911 This man name Bruce. Had my card numbers; all except one. He said he was going reduce my interest rate. Then afterwards; he said he was going to pay it off; since I didn't have $10,000.00. I said; How do I know if your up & Up. He did tell me not to call the number on my ID. I looked up the number. It showed that others had called this number also. I blocked this number on my phone; since this morning. He is still continuing to call. It's like as if; he has some kind of madness for mor information. As you see a freeky scammer. He said he was getting an attorney name Jerry Akins to tal to me. I believe all of it is fraud. May 31, 2016, 5:00 pm I get these calls all the time. I finally answered it, the number on the caller ID was 205-358-4906 from Birmingham AL. He said he was from Visa/MC Lower Interest rate department. ID # is 671 and his number that I could call 800-847-2911. I told him that I would have to call him back to give him my credit card number. June 20, 2016, 11:02 am They just called twice on my cell. Privacy Star blocked the call as a scammer. I've been getting calls from Card Services, from all different numbers, for the last 5-6 years. They don't care that you're on the DNCL. I've filed complaints with the PA Atty General and there isn't anything they can do with this one because they keep floating around and getting new numbers. They will never stop calling you no matter how many times you tell them to stop. I think the next time I'm gonna do what Steve, from June 7th, and play around with them for awhile! Guy that called me had a Persian/Indian Accent and I could Barely understand what he was saying. Then he said his name is: Andy Parker. Seriously is there any Persian/Indian person Named ANDY in the USA ? I doubt it. Common Sense People: Banks would never openly Offer you a lower rate. You would have to request it. August 4, 2016, 5:56 pm #1 - ALL these types of calls are scams, frauds and criminals attempting to steal your credit card information so they can use it to drain your account, and then make you pay the bill. #2 - NEVER answer the phone if you don't recognize the number. Let it go to voicemail. If it is something important, they will leave you a message and you can then call them back. If they leave no message, then it wasn't important enough to bother you with, and you just saved yourself several minutes of inconvenience and possibly a lifetime of financial disaster. #3 - THERE is NO law anywhere which requires that you answer a ringing phone, unless you are on the job working for the telephone company, or 911! #4 - If you happen to answer one anyway, do not engage in conversation with any of them if it involves anything that sounds "too good to be true" or if it is a stranger asking for personal information. No bank, no credit card company, nobody in the legitimate world of business is going to ask you for that kind of information, no matter what. If you already do business with them, they already HAVE that kind of information, and will not call you on the phone to "verify" anything. If you do NOT already do business with them, and they call asking for it, do not EVER give it out over the phone. The person on the other end of the call could be anyone, and usually is! #5 - The DNC List is a legitimate tool, but it is ONLY designed to function with the cooperation of legitimate telemarketers. They are required by every state which has one, to PURCHASE the list from the State or Commonwealth in which they wish to call, and then scrub their lists of ALL numbers on the list before they begin making those phone calls. I can't imagine that there would be too many people left to call after performing such an action, but that's the law. What it DOES DO is protect you from calls from legally run, legitimate telemarketers who follow the law and do as they should. They are calling on my company-issued business cell phone so I do not know how they got this number (I am also registered with the "Do Not Call" list.
