April 26, 2015, 4:06 am I got a call from a woman who said she was calling from the "Merchants Association" and she wanted to verify personal information about me, but wouldn't verify any information about herself or her company. She said she required me to comply first and without my ability to verify if she is even a legit person. This sounded by suspicious to me. To be fair some debt collection agencies have very strange privacy laws policies they need to comply with so that would explain the need for one way cooperation that seems to be a scam. i am still not cooperating and hung up. Suing These People
July 4, 2015, 2:50 pm I can successful sued and won a lawsuit for a company that repeatedly keep calling me. I am considering repeating that situation with this caller. I have no idea what debts I could possibly owe these people and they refuse to tell me much about themselves. They just demand one way cooperation and assume I should trust them without question. April 8, 2016, 4:37 pm Well, interesting about the comments regarding the debt collection company; you all do not attest to be guilty of owing a debt (except of maybe one of you). I owe the debt that they claim I owe. However, I must say that they are persistent. What I do is to say I will not talk to anyone that is recording my phone call! They always start out by saying, This call is monitored and recorded for whatever, if you continue to chat with them then you are giving them the right to record or monitor the call, which we know that they can use the information against you. Even if you tell them that, you will not talk to a recorded conversation, they will try to say they will give you a number to call back that is not recorded or they will call you back.
