I got my card blocked because of a decline and after I called the number back on my card I answered some security questions and then the block was taken off. January 26, 2015, 6:20 am I don't even have a Wells Fargo account and yet they still call me about someone else's account at my number. Very suspicious to me. I won't say the number is a scam, just that I don't have an account with Wells Fargo. Take responsibility for yourself and make a call using the number on the back of your card directly to be certain if you do have an account with them. Caller Company: Wells Fargo????? March 1, 2015, 11:44 pm This is a scam. They wanted to verify a card number I no longer have. I called Wells Fargo directly myself and they told me that they hadn't made the call and that the card the other person spoke to me avout was in fact not a valid card anymore. High risk caller. Scam alert to anyone reading this. The agent told me that had no red flags on my account and nothing was wrong. Big fraud attempt here so be careful!! If there is real fraud on your credit card then you will be served to call the number on the back of you bank or credit cards to to be certain that you are speaking to a real card services agent. August 15, 2015, 9:46 am This is the real Wells Fargo. I got a call from them very shortly after making a failed / rejected transaction online. They wanted to verify this and reactivate the card. October 12, 2015, 6:41 am This may not be the real Wells Fargo. I would be very careful to make sure. Call the numbers on the back of cards to b 100% sure. There are too many phishers on the phone lines now to be sure you are ever speaking to a real agent. I'm not sure the real Wells Fargo makes outgoing calls like this. Verify yourself. December 19, 2015, 2:31 pm I didn't call the number 800-704-0855 but instead called the number on the back of my card 800-CALL-WELLS. While I was on hold I logged on to my account and there were two fraudulent charges. So , yes, I would say that this number is legit HOWEVER, it's highly recommended to call the Wells Fargo direct at the number on back of card. They opened a claim and cancelled my card immediately. February 3, 2016, 6:34 pm This number is Wells Fargo with a fraud warning. The warning was valid, but always call the number on the back of your card just in case. Keep in mind the computer is just calling the number on file, so if they have a wrong number on file, you could get a call even though you have no account. Either way, call the number on the card. July 26, 2016, 1:06 pm They claimed to be Wells Fargo but wanted my zip code which WF never asks for. I called back the number on the back of my card to find that someone did steal my card number and if I had given them my zip code they would have cleaned me out more than they already have.
