Safe or not you can always call the number on the back of your card for guaranteed security and safety. No matter what I would never call back a number on your call display for banking or credit cards. January 31, 2016, 9:18 am REAL NUMBER! Call them back. It is US Bank. If not, google US Bank and tell them you received the call. April 12, 2016, 12:02 pm I thought this was a fraud. I got one text and 2 phone calls, one on my cell and the other at work. I even called this number back and at no time in any of their communications did they identify the institution. I googled the number and found this page. April 15, 2016, 10:24 am Answer this call. It is legit. They called 3 times, before I answered it. Glad that I did. Robot voice said my first name and last 4 digits of my credit card. They wanted to confirm last few transactions, as one was in Washington and another in Germany. I didn't call the spoken call-back number, being suspicious. I called the number on the back of my credit card, and a machine there requested confirmation of my making these geographically disperse card charges. I confirmed that they were all ok. July 10, 2016, 9:48 am Got 2 calls from this number this morning. Didn't tell the person my SSN. He told me the last 4 digits of the credit card being fraud used.
