I have a Scene points card and that must be how they got my information. Scotia Bank called me to offer me a checking account. So the scene card is being used for promotions to sell your data to these people and other companies without your knoweldge.

I called the number back and it was from Scotia Bank at their promotional center. They had no explanation for the call and they don't leave a message.

Scotiabank VISA trying, telling me they had authorized an increase on the limit of my credit card effective immediately. I rejected the offer and they kept pushing it on me saying that it would give me more flexibility with borrowing. CRAP!!

Scotia Bank telemarketing about a pre-approved credit card and 2 free movie tickets. Sounded like they were eating while they spoke to me.

This is Scotia Bank calling to offer a different card with more features or increased credit limits. Some times the new cards will have more insurance protections and they may also try to sell you credit insurance in case you get into an accident and needs the balance paid off. All useless to me.

Person was calling to offer me a pre-approved visa card from Scotia bank. I recently used my scene card for purchasing a new cellphone and I suspect that is how they got my info. Some other people based on my quickly researching the web are also saying Bank of Montreal is involved with calls from this number.

I am getting calls from Scotiabank about pre-approved visa cards. I have also recently used my mobile with the scene card so it may very well be the reason that these calls are starting. I am getting calls from other businesses as well at rate that is unusual for my number.

Telemarketing caller. Pre-approved offers for Scotiabank visa credit cards. I am currently banking with Scotiabank, but don't have a card with their bank. I will consider the offer, but I already have a credit card from another bank so I am not sure I will need this second card.

I got a letter earlier this week from Scotiabank about a pre-approved credit limit increase on my credit card. This call was about verifying if i got the letter and asking me if I would like to take advantage of the offer.

Scotiabank calling with credit card offers. They call every few days and only today did I finally pick it up. Pre-approved credit card offers. I also got a letter a few weeks ago about this and the call obviously matches up with the letter. No need for more credit cards, sorry.

I got a call for a pre-approved credit limit increase for my Scotiabank credit card. I didn't get any letters beforehand like other people. No need for more credit as I like to use cash mostly. And I also have other credit cards anyway so increasing limits is excessive for me.

Marketing offers from ScotiaBank that may send you mail about credit card offers new lowered interest rates that may be followed up by calls about the same offers. All sales by Scotiabank and obviously they got your number for being a customer.

They called my 416 company cell and I didn't answer because I never pick up calls from 18* numbers. I work for a non profit government agency and this is a brand new number. It was never publicized to anyone and I never had any relationship with Scotiabank. Just so people know that they do not have to have any business relationship with anyone to get a call from this number.

Caller said: "my name is Ralph, Financial Adviser from ScotiaBank". I said: "I don't believe you". He said: "is there anything I can do to convince you?" I said: "send me a letter".

This annoyance makes me want to sever a 43 year relationship with ScotiaBank.

I've been receiving these calls every night. I asked then not to call back and got hung up on. They called the next day, I missed it. I called them back and got hung up on once. Called back again and they refused to take me off the list without me giving up personal information.

Every day, this week, 800-240-1627 keeps calling and you know when it's a telemarketer, because of the in-between ringtones. I automatically set my phone right away to my voice mail system and wait to see if someone leaves a message. They never do.

I got a call from this number for the first time today, I could hardly understand the lady on the phone. When she told me she was from Scotia Bank I told her I don't bank with them and I wanted to know why she was calling me. She instantly withdrew and started to tell me there was a bad connection with her microphone and she couldn't hear me. She proceeded to hang up on me. So, I called that number back and spoke to (who I assume was the same woman) and I asked again why Scotia bank was phoning me if I don't have an account. She listed off a bunch of stupid reasons and wanted my number AGAIN to see why I got a call. I told her she knew she just called me and to never, ever contact me again. I have scene points, if they want to send me offers its through email. I get that banks have people who do call out to their customers for legitimate reasons, and I'm not an aggressive person by nature but I've seen too many people receive this bogus phone call. Enough is enough

I am getting calls from this number every single day. I never pick up 1-800 numbers so just let it ring and ring. What a pain. I did sign up for a Scene card recently though so I'm guessing this is what everyone is talking about.

After receiving several calls from this number routinely, asking them to remove my name from their call list, to no avail, I put this number on my auto-reject list. Now it goes straight to voice mail and they take up space there too routinely.

Isn't there a law against unsolicited telemarketing calls like this? I have my number on a "do not call list."
