The point of the call is to skim your number, It's a criminal organziation with automated callers playing messages about the credit card rate reductions being time limited to force you into quick action without thinking about it. They often bill people $495 (that is the most common charge seen on statements) right after the skimmer gets your card number. Caller Company: Fake Card Services Caller Type: Scammer/Phisher

September 14, 2013, 2:12 pm Fake card co. calls. Live person hangs up when I ask for the name of the company. 1-2 calls a week. Have told them before that I'm on a no call list. The point of the call is to see if they can get you to give them your credit card number with the lure of a fake rate reductions. They play fake automated messages about lower credit card interest rates *(% to 2%) and then say it's going to expire soon if you don't take advantage of the special promotion right away. They ask for your card number as a means to verify your identitu, but this should be a flag to you because card companies don't call people up and ask you to verify yourself since they usually only do that when you call them as part of the security check. This has been public stated to be a scam by the big card companies. They would most often send you a letter with promotions or a new application for any special.
