December 5, 2014, 1:33 pm I received a call saying that my grandson was in jail in San Diego and they wanted money. After a few hours, I found out that he wasn't. He was in his college class clear across the country. I did not send money and my grandson is fine. Two days later and I still feel violated. I notified the FBI and the Federal Trade Commission. January 20, 2015, 2:29 pm This is a google number that is being used to hide criminal activities. The scam could be anything. In my case it was another one of those pc fixing virus calls with the typical Indian fellow stupidly believing that I've never heard of him on the news already. Said she was a relative, long lost. Lame story. I know who all of my family is. Strange how people will take chances on thinking people are this stupid. July 24, 2015, 8:03 pm I got a call regarding a diabetic meter offer which the person on the phone said was ordered for my son, who is not diabetic. I have no idea why they would call or if if someone else is using my identity. I suspect not and that this is a scam and hoping someone would be diabetic since so many people are these days. August 20, 2015, 12:25 pm I got a call from a "SGC Equipment" and they offer solar panels and alternative energy products. The line itself is used by google and part of their google voice number network. I assume some companies are using the google voice line to reduce costs of having numbers themselves. Less monthly overhead. No interest in this SGC company product line so please go away. Caller Type: Telemarketer

September 1, 2015, 2:08 am I got a call from someone who claimed to be my grandchild. They were ven very enthusiastic about it and said "HEY GRANDMA!!" and then wanted money for a family emergency. I can say for certain that they are not my family. I am older, but not decrepit. I now who my family is and this is a scammer con artist trying to take advantage of older people. September 12, 2015, 3:52 pm I got a call from someone who claimed to be from Rogers Communciations and they wanted to give me a promotional offer to reduce my monthly bill. I hung up and call rogers and they confirmed with me that there is NO such promotion being offered at this current time. I suspect that this is a scammer so be careful. Caller Company: Fake Rogers??? October 5, 2015, 7:05 pm Call was from a company claiming to do professional software development and that they had programmers in Pakistan with offices in Houston, all ready to go to work for my company's needs. I don't believe this is true and they are a phishing scam waiting to collect credit card information and other personal information.
