This is not the real Microsoft and the real company has made public statements about this kind of caller being a fraud. Microsoft doesn't monitor it's customers like this and doesn't know your ip address. This person will hang up if you ask them to identify you personally.

Male with heavy foreign accent tried to access computer. I questioned the # he was calling from since it was listed as invalid, and he tried to give me another # supposed to be the "computer business number." I told him I did not trust him, and I was reporting his scam attempt, and hung up. He got very angry and they tried to call back 3 times. we did not answer the calls.

Number is confirmed as a Microsoft technical support computer scam. They will tell you that you have a virus or that some kind of illegal computer fraud is being committed with your computer due to an infection or hack. They will request remote access. Calls are overall an attempt to build trust and sell you fake services at the end.

This is not a real Microsoft call. The point of these calls is to mislead you with technical support fixes and then sell you fake technical support contracts and illegally altered freeware after the fix. FTC routinely attacks the companies behind these calls if they find them and forces them to issue refunds.

Recognized this as an obviously invalid number because of the digits in it. Not sure where it originated, but it clearly is a phishing scam which is being perpetrated over the phone. DON'T RESPOND to these idiots !!

Caller Company: Not sure, I think they were pretending to be from Microsoft

Have some fun with the idiot on the other end... let him talk some, then say something like "no no, I ordered a Mac, are you shipping me a Mac", see how long you can keep them on the phone and just find a fun scenario, let them get pissed instead of you....

Caller Company: claims he is from Microsoft....

Received call today stating my computer was not uploading Microsoft updates correctly. The caller was male with a very thick accent which made him difficult to understand. As soon as he told me what the call was about I hung up the phone. No attempt to call me back.

Received a call today from this number. I knew right off the bat it was a scam. I guy with a Indian accent with the name John (give me a damn break) anyway I kept the guy tied up on the phone for around 45 minutes pretending to be sitting at my computer doing what he wanted. I even answered another call from someone telling me there was an accident down the road from the house. When I got back with this guy I told him that my internet wasn't working because the phone lines were taken out by the accident. (I was on a landline) lol. He said he would call back in a few minutes. Phone was ringing before I hung up and john was calling from a different number wanting me to pay $199 for Microsoft technical support for one year. Told him I couldn't spend that kind of money without checking with my wife. He asked when he could call back and I told him never.
