April 10, 2016, 7:14 pm This is not a real Microsoft call. The point of these calls is to mislead you with technical support fixes and then sell you fake technical support contracts and illegally altered freeware after the fix. FTC routinely attacks the companies behind these calls if they find them and forces them to issue refunds. Caller Company: Microsoft Con Caller Type: Scammer/Phisher

January 16, 2017, 2:58 pm Received a call today from this number. I knew right off the bat it was a scam. I guy with a Indian accent with the name John (give me a damn break) anyway I kept the guy tied up on the phone for around 45 minutes pretending to be sitting at my computer doing what he wanted. I even answered another call from someone telling me there was an accident down the road from the house. When I got back with this guy I told him that my internet wasn't working because the phone lines were taken out by the accident. (I was on a landline) lol. He said he would call back in a few minutes. Phone was ringing before I hung up and john was calling from a different number wanting me to pay $199 for Microsoft technical support for one year. Told him I couldn't spend that kind of money without checking with my wife. He asked when he could call back and I told him never. Caller Company: John from Microsoft Caller Type: Scammer/Phisher |
