May 1, 2014, 10:56 am Fraudulent debt collection agency that tried to sneak my credit card number by lying to be that my credit card charge didn't go through. I had never authorized any charges they are talking about. Other people have talked about scammers on this line telling people that their driving priveldges and social security numbers would be hit with severe penalties if they don't comply and callback with your attorney. Big scam here. Others scam of letters to their jobs and calls demanding debts on fake payday loans be paid Caller Company: Debt scam Caller Type: Debt Collector

January 23, 2015, 3:48 am This is a debt extortion scam attempt. You can't be arrested for oweing people money. They got rid of those laws a long time ago. The person on the line sounded all official saying they were from "Second Chance Financial" and that I could be arrested for passing around bad checks and I needed to pay $900, but could settle for $300. They refused to tell me what company I owed and also refused to send me documentation of the debt in writing. This has to be a scam as I don't even know how I owe money. I am all cleared on my credit card, no payday loans, and certainly haven't used any checks for quite a long time if ever (can't remember...) February 15, 2015, 7:24 am Clearly a scam. Debt is a civil issue and they can't threaten arrest. If they threaten civil action that's fine, but you still need documentation. You can't just tell someone they owe you money out of nowhere and expect them to be legally obligated to pay you. They need at least a record of the debt to take to a lawyer. This caller offers none of that so block and ignore. They are most likely criminals. Caller Company: Fake Debt Collection Caller Type: Scammer/Phisher |
