January 25, 2015, 12:40 pm This call is from scammers that are pretending to be from the IRS and they are threatening me with a lawsuit if I don't pay the money from a debt I don't understand. They sounded like they were from India or Pakistan with a very strong accent. One of the apps on my cell phone told me that this phone call was actually from a payphone so it's very suspicious. I did some searching in Google and it appears that the US government has warned people about these calls and that people should ignore them. Caller Company: irs scum Caller Type: Scammer/Phisher

February 17, 2015, 4:15 pm Someone from the IRS told me that they are going to file a lawsuit against me if I don't pay old text debts back to them that include some fines that I didn't pay. They didn't sound like they were American at all. I've never gotten any letters or other phone calls about this and as far as I can tell all my tax records are up-to-date so I am going to ignore this caller from this point on. March 24, 2015, 10:38 am The IRS does not contact people on the phone in this manner. The caller making threats like this is very unprofessional and very unlike the government to make because they will usually just show up and arrest you if it's an actual serious problem and even in those cases they usually give you a long period of warnings. These people seem very young and uneducated and very aggressive and arrogant. The gentleman on the phone became very angry at me when I questioned him. Caller Company: not irs. If you receive this call like I did, go to the internal revenue site to report this fraud and also the f.c.c. to let them know this is a continuing scam. October 5, 2015, 7:02 pm Another call from the fake irs scammers. They pretend to be from the real irs and make extortionist threats about arrest or legal action from the government if you don't pay them old tax debts immediately. This is not how the real government collects debts. Registered mail would most likely be the first choice of the government to make certain you got the letter and are aware of the debt.
