March 1, 2014, 1:59 am IRS scam. Extortion attempt to scare you into paying fake tax debts. Thick Indian accent so the credibility of the caller dropped right off the bat. They faked an english sounding name with the big accent. This is a scam as tax debts are usually processed civilily or through property liens. You would get a letter, actually more than one letter before this. The government usually nags you quite a but before acting this way. And any phone calls would never threaten arrest, tax crimes usually get you arrested without warning. Caller Company: fake irs Caller Type: Scammer/Phisher

March 27, 2014, 7:50 pm A person called me from 585-633-1792 and told me I have tax problems. He asks me to call 585-633-1792 (the same number he called me) and talk to Dexder Cruz. If that number is busy, ask me to call 585-633-5395. Then he called me again the next day ask me if I called that number. I told him since it is the same number why ask Mr. Cruz to call me and tell me what is my tax problem. I told him IRS never call a person about tax issue, they will send letter first. I ask him to send an official IRS letter to me and I can call the number in the letter. Since then he never call me again. Be careful about the phone scam!!! February 2, 2015, 6:04 pm Big time con artists pretending to be a government agency with the IRS. They are trying to pull a quick extortion shakeup using fear. Time is their biggest weapon with fear. They need you to just pay them immediately so they get away without effort. Just resist and hang up. The goverment always sends official notices in the mail for stuff like this. Don't be a fool, people!! Caller Company: Tax Collection Con Caller Type: Scammer/Phisher

February 25, 2015, 9:32 pm A fradulent IRS agent calling with an attempted extortion request. They want past taxes and fines paid ASAP or they will have you arrested and make big claims of agents or cops showing up to arrest you, but you can stop this if you pay the bill immediately. This doesn't happen with the IRS. They don't threaten arrest with phone calls like this. They would send letters and often times take you to court if needed. Arrest would be for tax evasion or tax fraud with criminal intent to evade. Past tax debts is not a criminal act. They would probably put a lien on your property before arresting you.
