January 4, 2015, 8:07 am Student Loan reduction scam. I think they want to offer fake student loan reduction payments if you give them money. Just another form of the prepaid loan or US Government grant scams. They are getting smarter about people learning about the scams and adapting with blockers. In my case they sounded quite confident that they had my information from a list and I told them I never had any student loans so I don't want them to call me back. The caller id said "National Student Aid" and they called to tell me that the Obama admin had passed laws to increase financial aid to students in need and asked me if I was in need. Said they could help to reduce my student loans. I am too old to be in college so they must be calling at random to get lucky suckering naive young people. March 26, 2015, 9:37 am Caller ID said "Student Loan Center" and they left a message on my voicemail that said they could help to reduce student debt up to 40%. The call was automated. I paid off all my student debt over 8 years ago the call is useless to me even if it wasn't a scam. I can only assume this is some sort of debt consolidation or high interest loan to pay off the student loan and then get you to pay them with smaller long term payments. March 28, 2015, 7:49 am Be suspicious of anyone calling you loan or debt assistance consolidation services. Anything fiancial over the phone these days is really risky business. Most of the loan offers you get over the phone ar enot legit and totally criminal. You can't offer most of these products over the phone for the simple reason that it's too easy to rip people off. March 31, 2015, 11:11 am This is the second student loan call I've gotten and I haven't had S/L debt in almost 30 years. I called this number back and was given an option to get on their do not call list, which I did. I don't know where they are getting my number - the last caller told me the Dept of Education, which is LIE. I reported that company although I only had a phone number. April 10, 2015, 12:56 pm Caller claiming to be first U.S. capital, Nick Russo and Dan Jones. Stated that I owed a credit card debt in 2007-08 usbc. I asked for a statement to be mailed to my address that they have listed on file. I am also on the DO NOT CALL LIST and they still manage to call. Just got a call from this topics number, and after one ring nothing else. Not available for copper land lines but does work for Voice Over IP (Comcast , Verizion FIOS etc.) What a difference! December 27, 2016, 2:02 pm They call from that number, 530-392-9040. They don't leave a voicemail. They call, let the voice mail come on, let it stay on for two seconds, and then hang up. They call everyday. If you report them to the FCC, the FCC takes the information, but does not file, formal charges against the callers. Caller Company: There is no caller id on number. Today I tried to send a message to this no, but my telephone provider send me a message that this no. is invalid, so it is really a scammer.
