February 11, 2015, 12:37 am A technical support con that misleads customers with fake virus fixes and then offers expensive unncessary technical support packages and sells you software which is available for free elsewhere. They are most often Indian in ethnicity, possibly a corrupt call centre in Indian using the internet to make massive calls. February 12, 2015, 3:12 pm Scam from tech suppository indians. Gave them a hard time because i immediately recognized the scam. Fun to lead them on. Call them back and reverse the scam! Tell them your are a government official. Also, ask them how they got into your computer (they will say through your windows license) and then...ask them for your email address. They won't have it. September 25, 2015, 1:29 pm Claimed they were calling from Windows Service regarding errors on my computer. I said I couldn't understand him and asked for a number to call back. Gave me the above number. I asked if they had an 800 number and he said it wasn't working right now, said his name (which I didn't understand) and quickly hung up. My phone showed "Test Code VT". I was skeptical and asked for a call back number the number he (John Mac..kind of funny for an Indian name) gave was 347-227-6900. I looked that number up and found these pages reporting the scam.
