March 27, 2015, 4:28 am Fake card services offers for better interest rate with time sensitive offers that require immediately entering of your credit card number into the phone or you losing the offer. Big criminal operation that the US Government is working to stop. I f you are in the US you can use NoMoRobo to stop this kind of call. May not stop other scams though. Never give out credit card info over the phone to random calls. Always use the number on the back of the card to be 100% sure you are talking to a real agent. April 19, 2015, 7:58 am This is a famous scam for skimming credit card #s. They have computers that make huge amounts of automated calls with messages about reduced cc rates reductions and that you need to take advantage of the offer right now or you will lose it. Sometimes you will get a female voice called "Rachel" and this is a very famous name for the scam. Most people who fall for this scam will be charged in excess of $400 or more as soon as they give out their number. Must be making huge money as the scam doesn't go away. May 15, 2015, 9:23 am Completely automated system that will try to skim your personal data from you and bill you $495 dollars. They fake a reduced credit card interest rate offer and tell you that you may lose the offer if you don't act quickly. This is done to pressure you into fast action to type your number into the phone. They have a special computer recording your credit card # and this autobills you shortly after you stupidly gave your card number away. Old scam really and the FTC is trying hard to stop it. June 19, 2015, 2:47 am Automated machines with womens voices named Rachel Or Carmen. They offer reduced APR rates on your credit card. They need you to type your number into the phone using touchtone so they can record your number. They lie to you that this is for verification purposes when the real intention is to automatically bill your credit card hundreds of dollars while gambling that you will not complain about the charge if you don't see your bill. Lots of people don't check their bills regularly so a lot of people end up paying these criminals. Bad word out there. Caller Company: Rachel Or Carmen / Card Services Caller Type: Scammer/Phisher |
