September 22, 2014, 1:34 am These types of pre-approved loans are actually illegal to conduct over the phone in the US. They often want preppayments using green dot cards. The horror stories you hear form people are that they pay them and then have to keep callign them desperately to get their money and they keep getting lies about taxes and fines and new waiting periods to end. October 15, 2014, 5:06 am A man with an Indian accent telling me that I was approved for a $500 loan. This smells like a scam. I have not applied for any loans and certainly not any financial products in the last year or so. So I stayed on the phone to see who they really were. Then I said sure I need a loan for 500,00. He then called me a nasty name and hung up on me. I called back many times and he kept on hanging up. The foreign accent of India is probably a dead giveaway that this is a scam. Many people are getting these types of calls with Indian accented people scamming people.
