July 2, 2014, 10:38 am CONSUMER SVCS was listed on the caller id and the caller was offering reductions on interest rates for credit cards. I've done my homework and this type of call is a big scam. October 21, 2014, 12:00 pm This scammer calls numbers on the national do not call list in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. They further violate the TCPA by not having an operator on the line when the call is answered, and still further violate the TCPA by playing a recorded message without an operator on the line to answer questions. When you do get to an operator, the operation violates the TCPA by stating that they are not allowed to provide a phone number or physical address when asked - information the TCPA requires them to provide and that 100% of legitimate businesses would gladly provide for their customers or potential customers. Their recording states that this is your second (false, they call repeatedly) and final (also false, they will call again within a week) notice to get your credit card bills reduced and that you need to talk to a representative to get qualified.
