January 30, 2015, 10:45 pm I got a robotic sounding voice offering me vacations to cancun. It's actually a real person which is really weird. I asked the person if they are a computer and they said "Are you done yet? Can we continue?" Hahahaha so I was totally embarrassed. May 19, 2015, 1:03 pm The caller is "Maxlife" and they appear to be an insurance company calling to sell you life insurance policies. If you call them back you will get an automated message that tell you to press 2 to be removed from their calling list. So there is hope to get your number cleared if you would prefer that option. This begs to questions "Why the heck would I want to buy life insurance from someone in India?" June 26, 2015, 8:00 am In my case I am getting calls from this number demanding repayment of student loans. This is not possible as I've already paid off my student loan years ago to the bank I received it from. I have receipts for this. So this is a very dishonest caller or a very misinformed caller with bad information. I am going to guess it's a scammer as that seems the most plausible in this case. August 3, 2015, 5:37 am The caller was named "The Resolution Department" and they call content was in regards to cancelling out student loan debts over a period of 5 years or so. I think they wanted me to call the number 949-202-1418 back. I suspect this is a debt consolidation loan of some sort, but believe honestly that this is a pre-approved loan scam using student debt as a cover, Caller Company: The Resolution Department Caller Type: Scammer/Phisher

Not too worried about student yet yet as I am still enrolled in school. Must be desperately buying marketing lists to the point of calling kids still in school. See: Tellows.Co.Uk Feed: UK public service warning: cold callers offer fake IKEA shares: [Action fraud][boiler room fraud][cost trap][Ikea] [telephone scam] ::-:: Description: The National Fraud Intelligence Bureau has been informed recently of a supposed investment scam aiming at potential investors. The alleged victims are told that IKEA, the world recognised swedish company known for their modern architectural designs of both appliances and furnitures, are due to float shares on the stock market and therefore potential investors should purchase IPO shares (Initial Public Offering) before the floatation. In response, actionfraud.police.uk and Ikea have themselves issued an article stating that this is false and there are no arrangements for Ikea to become publicly listed. {{This described fraud comes under the umbrella of what is called Boiler room Fraud.}} �The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) report approximately 5000 people a year contact them on suspicion that they have been subjected to investment fraud. Unfortunately, around 10% would have already issued funds to the criminals. In addition, the FCA warns that out of these victims who would have transferred money%u2026the probability that they will be contacted in the future by the the same operation or have their details sold to other fraudsters would be increased.
