The government does not go around calling people at random off a list giving away grants. The scam us to lure you into giving them your credit card or bank info with promises of the grant. I did not give him a chance to say anymore and said NO Thanks!!! I don't think so and hung up.. Then I look up the number on the internet and find this information.. Definitely a SCAM!!!! November 20, 2015, 4:18 pm Woman with this accent asks for Kim- burrlee like that's my first and last name. I couldn't understand her so I asked Kim what? And she said it again so I said ok this is her. And she laughs and says omg you don't even know your own name. I said NO YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO PRONOUNCE MY WHOLE NAME. And I hung up. February 8, 2016, 6:38 pm So this number just called my phone (no idea how they got it) and the woman asked for me. I asked who it was and she said her name (forgot) and she was from the IRS or something. She was trying to tell me what she was calling for and I was confused because she obviously messed up, made some type of sound and then hung up on me. I knew right away from the accent it was a scam. He told me to call 347-433-8574 and give them my grant approval no. To claim a $9'000 grant. I didn't call, needless to say. When I told her to speak English to me or get off my phone, she got mad told me to get off her phone and not to call her back at that #.
