June 28, 2015, 7:38 am I had a very aggressive person call me on this number and tell me that I owed $300 and needed to use a green dot card to pay it back immediately. He said I could start with just a $150 payment. I had to laugh at him. This is so obviously a scam. Nobody in debt collection uses green dot cards. This is fraud. August 13, 2015, 2:46 pm This person claimed that I was going to be charged with check fraud for theft of a loan of over $3000. i was in shock when I heard this because I haven't taken out any loans at all. They had to be wrong. When he asked for a payment with a green dot card I lost all trust for the caller. I can confidently say that this is a scam and that people should be very careful. November 6, 2015, 10:56 am This was the callback number given when I received a call from someone claiming to be Publisher's Clearing House. I called back- they wanted my address and info so they could "deliver a check." I told him I knew PCH did not notify their winners in advance- he tried talking his way around this, very poorly I might add, saying "didn't PCH call you? They directly called me right back. I didn't answer. I typed this number online into google & found this page. I told him to call blue cross he said well you owe money I need your credit card number so this doesn't go into collections. November 12, 2015, 3:00 am I was sound asleep (11:33pm) and my phone (landline) started ringing. 239-400-3725 was on my caller ID. I have a business so I am used to these cranks fishing the web for phone numbers listed on websites that they can call and harass. I hit the talk button, so I could get the call, then hung up. My number is listed with the federal DO NOT CALL Registry, so I reported it to them via their website. If enough of us file complaints, maybe 239-400-3725 will get fined $10k. It supposed to be a $10,000 fine per phone call. Get your numbers on the Do Not Call Registry. At least it's a comforting thought knowing that something might be done about it. November 13, 2015, 11:31 pm I received a call from this number today and they said I was one of the top ten prize winners for Publishers Clearing House and that I won $250,000 or a Mercedes-Benz. They went on to say that the $250,000 was in a certified cashiers check that needed to be claimed today and asked if this was the first time I was receiving this phone call. When I told them I didn't enter for PCH they asked if I did a survey at a grocery store or something a couple months ago and said they are also partnered with Mega Millions Lottery. When they called me I was at work so I returned the call on my break since they left no message I was curious who it was and why they were calling. The call itself seemed fishy and the guy seemed to struggle finding the words to say at times so I figured it was a scam. The individual had a heavy middle eastern accent which seemed to fit with most companies outsourcing calls nowadays but I looked the number up to be sure and found this. Watch out for this number people, they try to obtain information on individuals on the receiving end and I don't exactly trust they won't show up at your house after reading comments on another site from people saying they received death threats from this number. She is a cancer patient and has paid all but $3000 . She can only pay by Credit Card. December 15, 2015, 1:23 pm I received an Instagram message telling me that I had won a PCH prize! I told the lady that I had not entered into this system nor had I really been interested in what she had to say. She got my phone number and called me from this Florida line. She then told me that the prize money would be taxed and that I owed $399. HAHA! I asked her to then send me the rules and regulations of the PCH prizes and winnings. She called me mom and said that she didn't have them. PLEASE! She called again and again. I blocked her from Instagram and told them why it was a fake profile. January 6, 2016, 11:09 pm A guy "Alex" was texting me on my cell phone trying to buy my fish house. He said he wanted me to pull my add and was really interested and would pay $200.00 more than what I was asking. The fish house was for his dad. He wanted me to use PayPal and then said a currier would pick it up. Then text back and said they couldn't pick it up unless they got paid so he was going to pay an additional 900 to cover this cost and wanted me to pay them with a money gran? It was getting to be a mess so I text him at 218-325-5856 (the number he was using) and said it's too much of a mess but if he wants to wait until he gets back "onshore" I would sell it to him. January 10, 2016, 10:27 am Got a call on my phone at about 2:30 am today Jan 10, 2016. I was half asleep. Told them I didn't owe them 2,000 and hung up. I got up went to the restroom thought it was a dream came back into bed and my boyfriend was on his phone with the same caller. Middle eastern accent. He didn't tell us why we owed him 2,000. What really bothered me was the fact that he knew my boyfriend, myself and my brother in law by first name. I figured out it was a scam when he claimed my husband zack owed him 2,000. I'm not married and zack is my brother in law and his brother austin is my boyfriend. Smartphones should really ban apps that create random phone numbers. What do we really need them for anyway? January 18, 2016, 3:41 am Was away from home for two weeks and came home to 15 msg on my answering machine with that 239 area code-- no speaking only background noise. No caller ID but the following numbers (some more than once) showed. Although the 400-3725 number didn't show all of the below sequential call sources were each prefaced by the same (239) area code: 300-6971; 300-6975; 300-6978; 257-4957; 257-4958; 257-4959; 257-4960; 257-4961. These calls were made over a 3-day period (Jan. 6-8, 2016). Fortunately they came to my landline so my cell wasn't charged. I'm glad I wasn't home and now know to ignore calls with that area code. I just need to go to Western Union & send $875 to get my registration delivery receipt. Heavy accent, not easy to understand, also used #876-458-1974. PCH website says no money needed to redeem the prize. He did not ask for credit cards. He did stop calling. It would be fun to drive the GMC right over the top of him. She left her cell number to call her back and we actually communicated thru text. She is from Cherry Hill NJ (856) 524-5278.
