February 28, 2015, 2:08 am Someone calling to claim that they worked with my computer tech support insurance company and because the company had shut down and was bought out I would need to make an adjustment on my computer by turning it on. I made this change, but later called my tech warranty company and they said they don't make outgoing calls at all. So now I am paranoid about the change I made. March 11, 2015, 4:52 pm I got a call from someone who claimed that someone I know had died and wanted to give me details about the death and funeral home arrangements. I found out the person is actually alive and well so this is a very mean kind of prank call. I will do my best to track them down and call the authorities on them. Caller Company: Funeral?? March 23, 2015, 6:37 am Someone called me from this number and told me that I had won the megamillions lottery with publishers clearinghouse and needed information from me to collect the prize. But first he started asking me questions about if I was married and had kids. Also aged my age. Hung up on me in the end. May be a prank caller. I know the publishers clearinghouse scam itself is popular from Jamaica, but this sounded weird with the personal information they were asking me. October 26, 2015, 1:15 pm This is a "Publishers Clearing House" scammer who will tell you that you won a big cash prize like $300,000 and all you need to do is make a small processing fee for tax fee to collect. They are obviously scammers since they would ask for you to go to Walmart or Walgreens and then use a prepaid card to make a the small payment. November 18, 2015, 3:50 pm Prepaid payments requested for fake prizes. This is a common US scam. They say you won a large cash payment and then say you only need to pay a fee which is significantly smaller than the cash prize. Unfortunately I never answer phone numbers I don't recognize so I'm glad I looked this up to know what this person is up to. January 12, 2016, 12:14 pm Just received a call from a gentleman stating he was calling from Andy Goldberg's office with The Publisher's Clearing House. He indicated that I had won a million dollars in addition to some bonus prizes. They were able to get my "submissions" when I bought magazine subscriptions with my debit card. When I told him that I hadn't done that for many years, he went on to say that the information remains in their system for many years and today just so happens to be my lucky day. In order to collect my prize he just had to verify the pronunciation of my name. He then asked me to state my first and last name. When I responded instead by saying "you called me, so you tell me my first and last name" he hung up on me. I immediately called back and he answered by saying "this is Andy Goldberg's office with the Publisher's Clearing House" I hung up and came to this site. I called the number again and got a magic jack voice mail. I will submit the information to the officials. I ordinarily wouldn't have even answered, but I recognised the area code as being from the county just south of where I lived for the last 20 years and thought it migh be someone I know. May 12, 2016, 3:15 pm Got a call from this number today when I answered the guy on the other line who obviously had a foreign accent informed me that I had won $500,000 from the Powerball and Lottery Commission and a 2016 Mercedes and that all he needed was some information and my address so they can deliver the prizes. When I asked why I couldn't come pick it up he said because the media is going to be there CNN and the BBC. Since I live in Atlanta I told him how about we just meet at the CNN Center will be a less of a drive for them and he said that would not do. After giving him a hard time he finally hung up.
