October 4, 2014, 10:00 am Remember people, you can go to FTC.gov website and input any number for breaching of do not call list. It really does work. It's stopped a lot of calls. I had one call number me 12 times a day and after using FTC.gov it all stopped. Theyscammer changed their number and FTC.gov stopped that as well. November 8, 2014, 2:22 am I got a female caller claiming to be from the Microsoft company to inform me about viruses that were being sent out into the internet from my computer. They attempted to tell me how to fix this with by showing me that common windows errors (all pcs have them) in the admin panel were from this "virus." In the end the goal is to sell you a fake membership for further tech support for hundreds of dollars. The ftc has gone after a lot of these operations and forced massive refunds. November 4, 2015, 10:35 pm A complete scam that wants to sell you $900 tech support membership contracts after they fake fixing your computer of a virus. There is no infection. It's all a lie for naive people with little computer experience. They will also try to sell you freeware software which is available online for free and was edited do they can make it look original. December 9, 2015, 3:57 pm The FTC has listed this kind of call as a scam or very "misleading" sales call. They fake the tech support fix and then try to sell you lifetime or very long term tech support contracts to make sure the fake infection doesn't come back. They will use common windows admins errors in the admin panel to make you believe you are looking at real evidence of a problem on your computer. These errors are normal for all windows computers.
