They have no power and no connection to the government. Fear and quick timing is their only weapon. If you are ignorant of the truth that is also their weapon. February 4, 2015, 7:16 pm The government has made public statements about these fake IRS calls. They don't just sue you and arrest you like this. They may send you afew letters and actually bring you to court, but they don't call you with scary calls like this to push you into anything. If the irs was ever going to have you arrested you'd probably be reported to authorities behind you back who would surprise you with an indictment and arrest you if you've been involved in fraud or evasion that is long going and obvious. February 16, 2015, 9:00 am I got a call about a lawsuit from the IRS if I don't pay them debts of back taxes and old fines immediately they will begin the lawsuit and consider having me arrested. This is a classic fake extortion attempt often run by people in India using ip phones on the internet. The point of the call is to scare naive people into believing they will get sued or go to jail forcing them to pay money they don't really owe. February 27, 2015, 10:54 pm I got a threat of a lawsuit from a very heavily accented man. Was shocked someone could be this arrogant and brave in making a call like this. They get very angry and rude to me when I resist them and call them on their crimes telling me I will go to jail for years and am a stupid idiot if I don't comply immediately.
