I was waiting to pick someone up, and chatted them up for 30 minutes (I don't think there is a way to catch these folks, so I just try to have a little fun with them). I pretended to get really excited. Asked them again and again about the money. I told them how much I really needed the money to buy slim jims, spam, and lucky charms. How delicious each of my favorite foods were. They had my address which sucks. They wanted to know my age and my credit card number. I then said, you know, you will get into very serious trouble for doing this... then the Government Grants Department representative hung up on me. October 4, 2014, 1:54 pm I received a call from these folks also. They had my name and address and said that I qualify for a government grant of $9000.00. They gave me a reference #9LE451 and a name and phone number to call when our conversation was over. Mr Milan 202-407-9192. They asked how I wanted my money sent by master card, visa, etc, when I responded to send it by Western Union the caller started to stumble over his script and hung up. October 28, 2014, 2:23 pm Reporting this number is not going to do any good. These scammers are hard to track down and the best course of action to take is not give into their demands and do not answer their phone calls. If you answer or call back, they got your interest. I receive calls every day/all day from these people and I do not pay them any attention. My attorney stated to not give them any information/Your information is sold to a third party and this is how they retrieve your information. They will continue to call and bug you. February 2, 2015, 1:26 pm People, it's time we try to limit these calls. I believe one major way is: DO NOT give your phone number to ANY company you do not have to. ie when buying anything from a store, entering a contest, signing up for magazines, etc. When you do have to give a number, tell them "I do not want my numbers sold or put on ANY mailing lists". This is how I operate and my calls are pretty infrequent. My husband puts his number on anything and he gets quite a few calls. Also, when I suspect a company of selling my number, I give them an alias or nickname. That helps to narrow the field on who is supplying our info to these creeps. Try it.

Said I was selected by some democratic survey of taxpayers. Got upset when I told him I would not be giving him any info over the phone. Figured if gov't wanted to give me $9,000, it could afford a postage stamp. He didn't have info to mail me about grant info. I gotta quit entering PCH sweepstakes. Warning: I have also received scam calls (they knew my name) regarding something seriously wrong with my computer, though it was working fine. Told them to send someone to my house to fix it. Their goal is to get you to get on your computer in an attempt to "fix" problem over the phone that is also affecting others, and in reality their goal is to take remote control of your computer and cause a whole lot of hurt while getting personal information. I called Richard Miller & he told me to go to CVS store at Mira Mesa Blvd. but before I enter the CVS store I should call him first..so I told him that "why"? He is asking me to pay $209 for the registration so I smelled already that this is scam ... I told him why I should call u if I go to CVS since I am already talking to you & then he yelled at me saying :f**k you" so I told him that u scammed idiot & then I hung up my phone.. May 28, 2015, 8:30 pm An indian guy called me yesterday and today. I picked up today and he asked for me and started asking about where I lived. The caller id said he was from D.C, USA but when I asked him where he was from and his name he made up a white name and said he was from florida. He then continued to ask if I was from _____ state and I ignored the question and asked what he needed. He had this nervous stutter the entire call and said he found me on Facebook (I never had my phone number linked to my Facebook) and said he wants to be friends with me. I told him to loose contact with me and never call me again and he continued to stutter. He gave me this creepy unsettling vibe. I ended up blocking his number on my phone. Caller Type: Unknown |
