This is what Wendy Knowler from Consumer Watch had to say: So here%u2019s what you need to know: *If you%u2019re over 18 and you feel the need to call one of these lines, and you don%u2019t want to pay around R1,65 a SECOND, make sure you call back and get the banking details and pay immediately. Clearly you can%u2019t expect to get the service free. *If you are under 18, well, don%u2019t make that call. It will be recorded, and your parents will probably hear it, or at least read the transcript. *If you%u2019re the parent of a teenager boy, have your own talk with your son about sex chat lines. This is the advise that was given by Wendy Knowler of Consumer watch on East Coast Radio do go look at the site. I just want to bring it under the peoples attention that an adult sex chat line does not fall under the sex trade laws they fall under the movie and acting laws...... There business is well organised and in the boundaries of the law. If they were not working with in those boundaries will they still be operational.....Really people if you made use of there service pay them don't steal there time and money......You do not walk into a shop and walk out with out paying then why deny them the right to there money as you picked up the phone you called the number you used the service ..........now why not pay???????? Who is really breaking the law 1 The dud opening account with fraudulent details ( wrong name surname and date of birth and in the event of kids lying about there age) 2 Agreeing to the terms and conditions and knowingly still make use of the service and refusing to pay.
